Summer Classes, Programs, and Campus Services
As the University prepares for the start of the virtual summer session on May 26, the Columbia community should be aware of the following operational updates:
- All classes, programs, and activities scheduled for this summer will be held online.
- The move to mandatory pass/fail for the spring will end and regular grading will resume.
- Undergraduate research is suspended until further notice.
All summer camp sessions scheduled to take place on campus or at Baker Athletics Complex have been cancelled.
Dining operations will pause for summer starting May 16.
Columbia Health will operate limited Medical Services onsite per our usual summer schedule, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Additional telemedicine services are also offered. Counseling and Psychological Services will be available virtually Monday – Thursday, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM and Fridays 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. All other Columbia Health units will provide service Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm virtually.
Housing: Spring term check-out is May 16, or May 21 for graduating seniors. There will be no summer housing. The Hartley Hospitality Desk will continue to operate, schedule to be determined.
Human Resources and benefits service centers continue to operate virtually and are available during normal business hours. In-person meetings will be accommodated via phone or web conference.
Lerner Hall will remain closed this summer.
Many Libraries services, tools, and collections are available online while physical locations are closed.
Mail continues to operate for administrative and student mail with amended hours.
Print continues to operate virtually; walk-in service is suspended.
Transportation will transition to a summer schedule for the intercampus shuttle. There is currently no service to the Lamont campus. Schedule updates will be posted when finalized.
In-person events are cancelled on all campuses until further notice. Search the University Events Calendar to find online events.
