Columbia Opens Two Additional Residence Halls to Healthcare Workers

April 09, 2020

To expand support to the frontline workers of New York City hospitals and clinics during the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Columbia University has made available two additional residence halls for doctors and other healthcare workers so they can avoid long commutes and the risk of infecting others.

Hogan Hall, at Broadway and W. 114th Street, and 47 Claremont, at Claremont Ave and W. 119th Street, will provide an extra 25 and 48 beds, respectively. This raises the total number of housing units to 455 across five residence halls: Hogan Hall, 47 Claremont, Watt Hall and Woodbridge Hall at Columbia University’s Morningside campus and Bard Hall at Columbia University’s Irving Medical Center campus in northern Manhattan.
